Singel -In the heart of Amsterdam
House complete renovation
We were involved in the complete renovation of this contemporary luxury flat located in the hearth of Amsterdam in the Singel canal.
The challenge here was to design a project that would meet the owner's wishes, but also fit in with the architecture and spirit of the place. The owners wanted to convert their one bedroom into a two-bedroom apartment. The old kitchen has been converted into an office/guest room, and the new kitchen moved in the center of the apartment. The living room is divided by a peninsula, so the owners can cook while chatting with guests. Adjacent to the new kitchen the third floor contains a spacious living room with sunlight flooding in all day through three large windows facing the Flower Market.
The reflective white surfaces and newly introduced glass partition between the rooms: for Malo "luminosity was a top priority.” Our custom made industrial glass doors feature particularly slim frames and rebated aluminum glazing bars. In this way, we've created tasteful room dividers while allowing natural light to flow through.
At the heart of the flat is the generous, contemporary, medium-sized bathroom. It includes a walk-in shower with a special window overlooking the bedroom, a comfortable bath and a stylish washbasin.
